Puppy Gus
![]()
This is how Gus looked shortly after we brought his home. He weighed about 9 pounds when we first rescrued him from the streets of Vidor, Texas. He's a little bigger now.
Gus at six months

Gus is growning - he's about 30 pounds here. He's looking up at Sandy in this shot taken in the living room of the apartment in which we were living at the time.
Gus and Dolly

Gus is about 6 months old in this shot. He is playing a very easy game of tug-of-war with Dolly - Ronnie and Beth's Yorkshire Terrier.
When we first brought Gus home, he was smaller than Dolly.
Kick the ball already!
![]()
When we moved to a house, Gus finally acquired a backyard. He was about 1 year old when we moved, and it was the first time he could go outside without being leashed.
Gus loves to chase a ball - in this shot, he's waiting for me to kick it. He will play past the point of exhaustion; he's never stopped - I think he would play all day long, if I could.
Ready to run

Gus will often raise a leg, like a pointer, when waiting for me to kick the ball. He appears to be mostly Golden Retriever, although he probably has a little of another breed in him as well.
